Membership Committee

This committee is charged with the responsibility for growing and maintaining active membership of the ITAA. They will identify strategies to engender interest in people becoming members of the ITAA.

The Board of Directors appoints the Co-chairs on the recommendation of the Director of Development. Members of the committee are Directors at Large – regional representatives. The term of office is for the period of the regional representative’s term.

The chairperson submits an annual report to the Director of Development for presentation to the Board of Directors for the AGM.

Goals of the committee are to:

  • Grow new members of ITAA
  • Sustain current members interest and increase involvement of the ITAA members in the organisation
  • Develop a creative, energetic and stimulating atmosphere among members

  • Engender a sense of community that supports a vibrant ITAA organisation
  • Communicate effectively with the Director, Development and the BOD

Strategies to achieve the committee goals include

  • Identify strategies that will engender interest in people joining ITAA

  • Identify what members would find valuable in joining ITAA
  • Consider opportunities that will support members professional learning and development, so their membership is sustained

  • Work with the BOD to stimulate ideas for greater membership involvement
  • Identify regional perspectives that will enable greater involvement
  • Identify people in the regions who have leadership, strategic and marketing skills to assist in making ITAA more accessible and inviting
  • Review the fees using the TAlent system as often as required
  • Review the world region’s representation among the representation at the BOD
  • Having a presence at international and national training and conference events that promote ITAA membership

The membership committee oversees how the organisation presents itself to its members. It does this through:

  • Supporting the BOD to listen to members’ input and act appropriately to their feedback
  • Being open to members’ feedback
  • Supporting Regional Representatives about how to engage and stimulate involvement in ITAA

The committee is also co-responsible for the growth as well as retention of ITAA members in collaboration with the regional representatives.
